SALT + COMPANY was founded in 2016 by Alex Kelly, who knew there was a better, more strategic way to help companies and organizations thrive.

ALEX KELLY, CEO

Alex Kelly is the founder and CEO of SALT + COMPANY, a strategy and operations consultancy that helps organizations move from complexity to clarity.

With a background that spans the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, Alex has spent her career helping organizations solve big, intricate problems — from scaling advanced manufacturing and sustainable housing initiatives to reshaping systems in transportation, healthcare, and fintech. She has worked with all levels of government, both in Canada and internationally, guiding projects that merge strategy, operations, and impact.

Before founding SALT in 2016, Alex built her expertise leading multi-stakeholder initiatives focused on social innovation, sustainability, and economic development. Most recently, she served as Chief Operating Officer and Board Member at CABN, where she helped pioneer Canada’s approach to net-zero, rapid-build housing through mass-timber construction, robotics, and advanced manufacturing systems. At CABN, she led national partnerships, funding programs, and workforce-development initiatives that redefined how sustainable housing could be built at scale.

Alex holds an MSc from the University of London, a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and a BA in Health and International Development from Queen’s University.

Her approach blends operational precision with strategic foresight—helping organizations design systems that work, lead with confidence, and build a lasting impact.

JAMES PARKER, EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

James Parker is the Executive Assistant at SALT + COMPANY, supporting operations, client coordination, and execution across the firm. He manages scheduling and follow-ups, ensuring priorities remain clear and timelines are met. With a direct and efficient approach, James keeps communication focused and work progressing.
